Don’t forget, our guild meeting is Sunday, July 10, 2-4 p.m. at the Garcia Center for the Arts (536 W. 11th Street, San Bernardino CA). Bring your Sand & Surf Flying Geese Chevron blocks blocks for the Block Lotto and your modern quilts for Sew & Tell. Our program will be Modern Design Using Traditional Elements. You won’t want to miss this opportunity to jump right into the modern quilting world! Come on in, the water’s fine!
We need your help to make our guild be the best it can be. We have committee chairperson and member openings for two committees: Charity Quilt Committee and Challenges, Lotteries, & Swaps Committee. These positions are just for 2016, so your responsibilities will last for only six months. This is a great opportunity to try a new position out. If you like it, stay on for 2017.
Using our quilty talents to make charity quilts is a wonderful way to give back to the community, practice our skills, and get to know each other better. A Charity Quilt Committee makes it easy and fun for guild members to participate in making charity quilts for projects such as the QuiltCon 2017 Charity Quilt Challenge, Quilts for Pulse (coordinated by Orlando MQG), and Quilts for Peace (coordinated by Dallas MQG), as well as for local organizations in need.
Related to the Charity Quilt Committee, we need a Project Manager for the QuiltCon 2017 Charity Quilt Challenge. Find out more about this challenge and the project manager position on the QuiltCon East website.
The Challenges, Lotteries, & Swaps Committee will coordinate guild activities such as quilt challenges, block lotteries and exchanges, mini quilt and fabric swaps, and more. Keep us busy sewing. You’re only limited by your imagination! A bonus for committee members: Since you’re choosing the projects, you can be sure you’ll always love them!
