As many of you may remember, last year we ran a resale table throughout the year. While this was a successful project for our Guild, we wanted to do something a little different this year by not running the sale all year and also changing the name to Upcycling Event. The Upcycle Committee is excited to announce that instead of being a part of the August meeting, our event will now be the featured presentation at our August 4th meeting! Because we are expanding this event, we’ve decided to also move the location to the Mountain Shadows Community Center in Highland, CA. This location will provide more space and room to spread out. We are also hoping to invite guests to this event, both those living in the Mountain Shadows and we’re encouraging our members to bring guests as well!
Our collection timetable for donation of goods will begin in May at our meeting and continue through July. We’ve put a list together of items to donate for reference:
Fabric (please mark the quantity: fat quarter, 1/4 yard, 1/2 yard, 1 yard, etc.)
Sewing notions
Rulers
Sewing Totes
Rolling Totes
Books
Magazines
Or anything sewing/quilting related
If you’d rather make an item(s) to donate, we would appreciate any handmade items. Some that we thought of are:
Set of Coasters
Mug Rugs
Pot Holders
Embellished Tea/Kitchen Towels
Tissue Covers
Lap Quilts
We are also setting up a “Baked Goods” table. Please bring in your favorite goodies! We look forward to seeing what tasty treats you bring.
We’re counting on this event to be one of the Guild’s major fundraising events this year and appreciate any and all donations that you can provide.
