“Where words fail, music speaks.”
― Hans Christian Andersen
As I ponder my Song Challenge quilt, I think that quilting is like music. It allows me to capture emotions and the world through my own venue that words cannot express. Oh, I love fabric! It has so much texture, depth, and choices of design.
I cannot wait to see all of the fascinating quilts our modern guild ladies have created. If you haven’t started, it’s not too late. There is not a size requirement. Also there isn’t a required number of pieces or amount of quilting. This should be a freeing activity, even though it hasn’t been for me. I know I should just let go and enjoy the idea of finishing it. I’m looking forward to hearing your version of music in a quilt.
Most importantly-bring your Upcycling items to the September meeting. They can be new, lightly used, or created by you. Clean out your sewing room of items you don’t use. Make some fabric bags, quilts, or other items that quilters need. Additionally, think about Christmas gifts for friends and relatives.
See you on September 1st at 2 pm in the Grand Terrace Community Center.
